We promised to keep you updated on any news relating to the current situation and following the Prime Minister’s order on the 4th January 2021 for all of us, wherever possible, to stay at home, we want to update you on what that means at SDL Property Management.
Our priority as always is the wellbeing of our customers and people. All our offices are now officially closed to everything except absolutely essential tasks that cannot be completed from home. We would be grateful if you would only communicate with us by phone or email as we have limited staff processing hard copy post.

Below is an update of the steps we are taking to protect our people and our customers:
Essential building surveying work will include a risk assessment before attending. A decision will then be made whether it is safe to attend or not. In the event we do attend, our people will use social distancing and maintain good hand hygiene both before and after the visit. Property managers and surveyors will not be entering peoples’ homes during the lockdown period.
We ask our customers to contact us if they’re self-isolating with symptoms. If there are known cases of Covid-19 on-site or people are self-isolating, then the site visit will not go ahead and will be rescheduled for two weeks from the original visit.
Major works & maintenance
Major works and repairs/maintenance will only take place when it is essential, and our people and contractors will practice social distancing and good hand hygiene if they need to attend.
If the work being carried out is considered to be non-essential our team will be in touch with you to explain this and the proposed delays.
We’ve provided onsite staff who need to visit sites with PPE. All equipment includes guides on how best to use it, and our team have been trained to safely & correctly visit sites.
- Hand sanitiser – so they can sanitise their hands before and after any visits
- Face coverings & gloves – for our people to use when they feel they need to
- Antibacterial wipes – to wipe down any equipment that has been used during a visit
If you see us on-site, please remember to maintain social distancing.
Common areas & onsite facilities
We have closed all communal facilities and amenities with immediate effect. This includes; gyms, swimming pools, communal meeting rooms and resident lounges.
Regular cleaning will continue unless we are told otherwise by the government. Cleaners have been provided with the appropriate PPE and will follow guidelines on cleaning their equipment and using appropriate products.
Where we are aware of a confirmed case of Covid-19 in a block, we will follow the guidance given by PHE. In some cases, a deep clean may be needed in communal areas. If this is the case, then this may mean an additional cost in your service charge and our team will contact you about this.
If you go into self-isolation due to displaying the symptoms of Covid-19 it is important that you let us know about this through our portal SDL 360 or by contacting your property manager.
If we are aware of a resident self-isolating, we will contact all residents to let them know and ask them to take extra precaution and increase their sanitation. We will not identify the flat or person that is self-isolating.
