Wither its winning personality awards or being picked to feature in Flat Living’s top 50 property management influencers; It’s safe to say that Samantha Massey, head of training and compliance, has not had a boring July.
Having worked for several well-known property management companies, Samantha’s knowledge and practical experience cannot be overstated. After successfully completing her APC, Samantha is now a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Samantha’s commitment to improving the industry reached a new high when she was appointed as a Director of the Institute of Property Management (IRPM) in 2015. With over 20 years’ experience, Samantha not only has an in-depth knowledge but a large network of contacts throughout the industry.
Samantha recalls a distinct lack of women in senior positions at the beginning of her career. With little female support available when starting out it is Samantha’s aim to ensure that this is not the case for ambitious and enthusiastic women entering the industry. However, Samantha was inspired by Mary Anne form Ringleys as a strong female mentor.
Samantha believes that is essential for women to support women for the sector to grow and this has led her to become a founding member of Doyenne to provide a collaborative and inspirational environment for women to achieve.
So, what do the next 10 years look like for Samantha? She wants to work at changing the view that Property Management is a job and not a career. This is not the case and what this part of the industry to be taken seriously and show that the role deserves professional respect. She also wants to see SDL Property Partners continue to grow from strength to strength, she is so proud that she was given the opportunity to be involved in its launch.
With no plans of slowing down or taking it easy any time soon, we are more than positive that Samantha’s high ambition can take her to new highs and allow her to really make her mark on the industry.
